This collection of songs was recorded in front of a live audience at Jim Roll's Backseat Productions in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We also had a film crew led by the wonderfully talented Scott Allen present, and the project was subsequently turned into a film which you can see here: vimeo.com/37642589

It was incredibly hot in the room, and Misty, Colette and I were incredibly nervous, being jammed into a windowless room with 35 people. I was mostly apprehensive about whether or not the idea of the thing would translate: i wanted the audience to be as much a part of the recording/filming/live performing duties as myself, Jim, Scott, and Doug Coombe were. I think it worked.

The songs we played were a pretty vast selection from all the records I have made, along with some unreleased songs, and one very special cover, dedicated to Josh Malerman of The High Strung, who was gracious enough to attend.

I first heard Chris Bathgate at performance by a student dance company on the campus of UC Berkeley. They danced to "Eliza (hue)" and I knew right away that this was an artist I had to find. It took a little bit of luck and google kung fu, but I'm definitely glad I tracked him down. "Borders" is another stand out track and I love "Everything (Overture)", especially the live NPR Tiny Desk version. Connor Welton
